He’s Done It Again:

Once again, George Monbiot has brought to my attention something that I neither knew nor cared about before  today, brought it right home, and battered me around the head with it. Battered, of course, probably being a pretty apt word.

Read him talking about overfishing in the most stark and anger-inducing language on his blog. Be shocked, and angered, and then get back to your revision, as I must, seething.

  1. Read the entry before that about PFIs. I’m involved with one now, and I’m amazed the Government thinks that they’re value for money…

Anyway, yeah. Overfishing is awful. But then it’s not out of place; people coming along and making the maximum amount of short-term profit, ignoring the long-term consequences. Hmm, now where have we seen that before?

(sadly thats only one of many examples. Big business really sucks 😦 )

Yes, I was shocked by the one on PFIs too, but I don’t really understand a lot of it, so I was shocked in silence rather than being all ‘oooh nooo the pooor ickle dolphins’. That wasn’t actually my response. I am not twelve. Or that irritating. But yes.

And indeed, good point. Meanwhile, trivial and super-annoying question – how do you do links like that in a comment? I can do it on my blog but I’m assuming that here in a comment I have to learn some little bit of code that I will then uselessly forget every single time I need it but every now and again will manage to pull off perfectly, much like Callan’s linebreaks?

Thank you. I’m going to try it out… this link should take you to the article I just mentioned in my latest post, just because it’s still there on my clipboard to Ctrl-V, and dead easy therefore.
